American Electrology Association Joins the Push for Workforce Education
With continuing education touted as the key to economic recovery, a leading professional organization steps up to do its part.
May 4, 2010

WENATCHEE, Washington -- The American Electrology Association (AEA), an international organization serving the electrology profession, today announces that its scholarship committee, in conjunction with the American Institute of Education (AIE), will annually award an Electrology Education and Entrepreneurship Triple E package beginning in August 2010.

Access to continuing education and new career opportunities is critical to many Americans looking to start new careers or to replace employment lost to the economic downturn. For a profession like electrology, which requires a significant level of training and equipment investment to enter, keeping the career path open to new entrants presents a challenge.

To help meet the challenges of entering a new profession, the 2010 Triple E package provides the recipient with a full tuition scholarship to the Electrology program at AIE, a free one-year membership to AEA upon completion of package requirements, and a free Apilus Senior II Epilator donated by Aesthetics Systems, Inc.

AIE Director Ron Davis, a key partner in the Triple E program, believes that opportunities like this, which provide quality education and equipment to those seeking to become electrology professionals, are directly tied to the chances that a new practice has for success. Davis states, "I see some electrolysis practices thriving despite obstacles such as economic troubles and competing technologies. These electrology practitioners succeed by maintaining their investment in themselves and in their clients through continuing education and up-to-date equipment."

According to Davis, electrology program graduates who receive mentoring have a 35% greater chance of success than those who go it alone. Graduates who seek ongoing professional support also earn higher revenues in their first five years than those who do not.

Given the clear connection between professional support and long-term success, AIE will also offer a free one-year AEA membership with full access to AEA member benefits, professional communities, and marketing tools to all graduates of the AIE Electrology program to ensure that individuals entering the electrology profession have the best chance of success.

The American Electrology Association is the largest international non-profit membership organization for permanent hair removal professionals. It promotes the highest standards in electrology education, practice and ethics. The AEA also champions state licensing and regulation of the profession to protect the public interest.
